The Universitas Indonesia (UI) is a state, comprehensive world-class university in Depok, West Java and Salemba, Jakarta, Indonesia. Universitas Indonesia is the oldest tertiary-level educational institution in Indonesia (known as the Dutch East Indies when UI was established). Universitas Indonesia is a modern, comprehensive, open-minded, multi-culture, and humanism campus that covers wide arrays of scientific disciplines.
One of UI's flagship programs is the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking to show the extent to which a university worldwide is ‘green’ and become the role model of a sustainable society.
UI is generally considered the most prestigious university in Indonesia. 






Gajah Mada University

Gadjah Mada University (Indonesian: Universitas Gadjah Mada or UGM) is one of the largest national universities in Indonesia . founded on December 19, 1949; although the first lecture was given on 13 March 1946. The name was taken from the name of Majapahit's Prime Minister, Gajah Mada.
UGM is located in Yogyakarta, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. It has 18 faculties, 73 undergraduate study programs, 28 diploma study programs, and a graduate program of 62 study programs ranging from Social Sciences to Engineering. It has approximately 55,000 students, 647 foreign students, 2,240 employees, and 2,273 lecturers. Gadjah Mada University has been considered to be the second most prestigious University in Indonesia (between University of Indonesia and Bandung Institute of Technology.


The University of North Sumatera

The University of North Sumatera (Indonesian: Universitas Sumatera Utara) or (USU) is a public university located in the city of Medan in North Sumatera, Indonesia.
It is situated in Padang Bulan, in the Medan Baru subdistrict of Medan, close to the City Centre, with a total area of 122 hectares. Due to an increase in student numbers, a new campus is being constructed in Kwala Bekala, 15 km distant, with a 300 hectare campus area. Its rectors serve eight-year renewable terms.
USU was established as a Foundation Universitet North Sumatera on June 4, 1952. The first is the Faculty of Medicine Faculty which was established on August 20, 1952, now commemorated as the anniversary USU. President of Indonesia, Sukarno then USU inaugurated as the seventh state university in Indonesia on November 20, 1957.


Airlangga University

Universitas Airlangga (UA) is one of the oldest and the best-ranked public universities in Indonesia. Located in Surabaya, East Java, this entrepreneurship-based university was established in 1948 as a distant branch of University of Indonesia. It started with a medical school and school of dentistry. Universitas Airlangga has grown over the years and now hosts 13 faculties with more than 24,143 students (in academic year 2009–2010) and nearly 1,571 faculty members.



Hasanuddin University

Hasanuddin University (Indonesian: Universitas Hasanuddin, Unhas) is one of the biggest stated-owned universities in Indonesia, based in Makassar, the capital of South Sulawesi province. The university was established in 1956, named after Sultan Hasanuddin, a King of Gowa Kingdom. Before the official launching by the first vice President of Indonesia, Dr. Mohammad Hatta, there had been in Makassar a faculty of economy of Indonesia University,centered in Jakarta. This faculty is later known as the seed of Hasanuddin University.
